English Schools Championships

English School Track and Field Championships 2012Great performances from TeamSightline athletes this weekend. Kelly Bramhald won her first English Schools title at a wet and windy Gateshead. In her last appearance at the Schools she won the senior girls title. Aiden Reynolds then backed up Kelly's performance with silver in the senior boys javelin and finally Matthew Martin won the Irish Senior for the first time today with a new personal best performance of 61.38m in Dublin.

Olympic Trials Summary

Aviva UK Olympic TrialsA slightly below par weekend for Team Sightline, but ultimately great experiences for Joe, Aiden and Kelly. Hopefully they will be able to use the undoubted frustrations from the Olympic Trials to motivate them to come back in 4 years and be at the top of their games. Given their 19, 17 and 18 years respectively this was never going to be their time, however the exposure to a large crowd and a high level of competition will be part of their continued development as athletes.

Aviva U20/U23 Champs

Aviva U20 & U23 ChampionshipsAnother promising weekend for Team Sightline Javelin throwers in windy conditions at Bedford. Kelly Bramhald and Aiden Reynolds finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the U20 competitions on Saturday with very competitive performances, whilst Joe Dunderdale won the U23 competition today with a new lifetime best performance of 75.73m to propel himself to the top of this seasons U23 rankings. On to the Olympic Trials next at Birmingham.
